Contest Dates

This contest begins with the first (1st) round of the men’s college basketball tournament on Thursday, March 20, 2008 and ends with the conclusion of the sixth (6th) round championship game of the men’s college basketball tournament on Monday, April 7, 2008. This contest does not include the sixty-fourth (64th) seed “play-in” game.

Entering The Contest

Contestants who register for Fan Frenzy are automatically entered into the “Pick Up Front” and “Pick As You Go” contests. Contestants who wish to register and enter the "Pick Up Front" contest must submit their picks no later than thirty (30) minutes prior to the start time (as posted on the My Picks page) of the tournament on March 20, 2008. Contestants who wish to register for the "Pick As You Go" contest may enter the contest at any time during the contest but cannot submit picks any later than fifteen (15) minutes prior to the posted start time (as posted on the My Picks page) of the last tournament game.

“Pick Up Front” Gameplay Overview

Contestants pick the winners of all sixty-three (63) tournament matchups before the tournament starts. The bracket will allow contestants to pick the winners of all matchups for all four (4) regions of the tournament. After all picks in all four (4) regions are submitted, contestants will be able to pick the four (4) matchups in the Finals region. All contestant picks must be submitted at least thirty (30) minutes before the tournament starts (as posted on the My Picks page) on March 20, 2008.

Winning the “Pick Up Front” Contest

The contestant with the highest overall score at the end of the “Pick Up Front” contest is the winner of the “Pick Up Front” contest. In order to be eligible to win the “Pick Up Front” contest and any associated prizes, a contestant must pick all matchups of the tournament. Any contestants that do not pick all matchups of the tournament will not be eligible for the contest’s overall prizes.

Ties are broken as follows:

Overall “Pick Up Front” Contest Tiebreaker

If there is a tie in overall scoring at the end of the “Pick Up Front” contest, the system will break the tie in the following order:

  1. The contestant with the most correct picks in the sixth (6th) round of the tournament wins the tiebreaker; if this does not result in a tiebreaker then the tie will be broken as specified in #2.
  2.  The contestant with the most correct picks in the fifth (5th) round of the tournament wins the tiebreaker; if this does not result in a tiebreaker then the tie will be broken as specified in #3.
  3.  The contestant with the most correct picks in the fourth (4th) round of the tournament wins the tiebreaker; if this does not result in a tiebreaker then the tie will be broken as specified in #4.
  4. The contestant with the most correct picks in the third (3rd) round of the tournament wins the tiebreaker; if this does not result in a tiebreaker then the tie will be broken as specified in #5.
  5. The contestant with the most correct picks in the second (2nd) round of the tournament wins the tiebreaker; if this does not result in a tiebreaker then the tie will be broken as specified in #6.
  6. The contestant with the most correct picks in the first (1st) round of the tournament wins the tiebreaker; if this does not result in a tiebreaker then the tie will be broken as specified in #7.
  7. If there is still a tie, a random winner will be drawn from all contestants that are tied.

“Pick Up Front” Contest National Prize(s)

Contestants competing in the “Pick Up Front” contest will be eligible to win cash prizes as follows:

Contestants can only win one of the cash prizes outlined below. So, for example, a $100,000.00 winner cannot also win a $10,000.00 or $1,000.00 prize and a $10,000.00 winner cannot also win a $1,000.00 prize.

Up to one (1) $100,000.00 cash prize could be awarded to an eligible contestant who picks all 63 games in the contest correctly. If there are more than one (1) verified winner then the $100,000.00 cash prize award will be evenly divided between all winners.

Up to five (5) $10,000.00 cash prizes could be awarded to eligible contestants who pick 61 or 62 games in the contest correctly. If there are more than five (5) verified winners then the aggregate total of all 5 $10,000.00 cash prizes ($50,000.00) will be evenly divided between all winners.

Up to ten (10) $1,000.00 cash prizes could be awarded to eligible contestants who pick 60 games in the contest correctly. If there are more than ten (10) verified winners then the aggregate total of all 10 $1,000.00 cash prizes ($10,000.00 total) will be evenly divided between all winners.

Determination of cash prize winners, verification of eligibility, and compliance with these rules will be conducted by OddsOn Promotions, Inc., whose decision will be final. Winners will be notified by email at the email address provided to MediaSpan in his or her registration within seven (7) days of winning. All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification. MediaSpan or its affiliates are not responsible for any technical issue involving a potential winner's ability to be reached by email, such as changing or closing email accounts or spam. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days after being notified by email, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected and determined as the contestant with the next highest score. Winners of the "Pick Up Front" Contest National Prize(s) will receive their prize in the form of a company check from MediaSpan. Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received. All national winners will be required to provide their mailing address in order to receive the national prize. All national prizes will be mailed to winners and shipping and handling will be paid for by MediaSpan.

“Pick As You Go” Gameplay Overview

Contestants pick the winners of all matchups round-by-round throughout the tournament. Contestants cannot pick a future round until all matchups for the prior round have been determined. Contestants will also pick the final score of one (1) game per round which will serve as the weekly tiebreaker for that round. The tiebreaker game for each round is clearly marked in the My Picks page.

  4.  Among all contestants who are tied for the Overall "Pick As You Go" contest, the contestant who was the tiebreaker winner for the third (3rd) round tiebreaker game (see above “Round-By-Round “Pick As You Go” Contest Tiebreaker” above) wins; if this does not result in a tiebreaker then the tie will be broken as specified in #5.
  5.  Among all contestants who are tied for the Overall "Pick As You Go" contest, the contestant who was the tiebreaker winner for the second (2nd) round tiebreaker game (see above “Round-By-Round “Pick As You Go” Contest Tiebreaker” above) wins; if this does not result in a tiebreaker then the tie will be broken as specified in #6.
  6.  Among all contestants who are tied for the Overall "Pick As You Go" contest, the contestant who was the tiebreaker winner for the first (1st) round tiebreaker game (see above “Round-By-Round “Pick As You Go” Contest Tiebreaker” above) wins; if this does not result in a tiebreaker then the tie will be broken as specified in #7.
  7.  If there is still a tie among all contestants who are tied for the Overall "Pick As You Go" contest, a random winner will be drawn from all contestants that are tied.

“Pick As You Go” Contest National Prize(s)

One (1) round-by-round prize will be awarded of a Best Buy gift card valued approximately at fifty dollars ($50.00) to the national high scorer at the conclusion of each round of the contest. Up to six (6) $ fifty ($50) best Buy gift cards will be awarded. One (1) grand prize will be awarded of a Best Buy gift card valued approximately at two hundred dollars ($200.00) to the overall high scorer at the conclusion of the contest. The overall winner will be determined at the conclusion of the final round of the contest. Winners will be notified by email at the email address provided in his or her registration within seven (7) days of winning. MediaSpan or its affiliates are not responsible for any technical issues involving a potential winner's ability to be reached by email, such as changing or closing email accounts or spam. All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days after being notified by email, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected and determined as the contestant with the next highest score. This process will continue until a potential winner has been reached within the seven (7) day time period. You must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older and a legal resident or U.S. citizen at time of entry to be eligible for this contest. This contest is void where prohibited by law. This is a national contest. This contest is open to legal residents of all fifty (50) states. MediaSpan and its affiliates reserve the right to substitute any prize with

another prize of equal or greater value. Affiliates reserve the right to restrict the local winners, if applicable, to only persons whose primary residence is within a sixty (60) mile radius of the affiliate's' office.

Employees of MediaSpan and its affiliates, their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible.

Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.

Entrants further grant to MediaSpan and its affiliates the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest. MediaSpan and its affiliates reserve the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.

This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
